When I first started writing my book, AOP in .NET, I was told that I could have someone else write a "foreword" if I wanted.

I thought about it, and while I know a lot of great developers whom I could ask, I created a very short list of people who I think would be a good fit for writing a foreword about AOP. This list was a couple of long-shots, so my plan was that if no one on this list was willing or able, then I would just go without.

Much to my surprise, one of my long-shots turned out to be very approachable, and entirely willing (no bribery or anything)!

I asked Phil Haack to write a foreword because:

• He has expressed interest in AOP, i.e. he wrote NullGuard with PostSharp
• He has worked on ASP.NET MVC, which contains ActionFilters, an AOP concept that I cover in the book
• He is an instrumental part of NuGet, which I believe has tremendously helped the AOP ecosystem in .NET
• He is a well-respected and recognized name in the .NET developer community
• He has been an author/contributor on several influential tech books (my favorites being the Pro ASP.NET MVC book series and Framework Design Guidelines)

I'm incredibly grateful and overwhelmed that Phil would take time out of his busy schedule of being awesome to write a foreword for this rookie author.
